Serving as a Pastor for the first time in Wisconsin, it’s fun to be able to claim my roots as having been born in Green Bay and baptized on the day of the infamous Ice Bowl on December 31, 1967. Though I have to admit, I have spent the majority of my life in Minnesota. I attended Concordia, Moorhead for three years before transferring and graduating from North Park College in Chicago. I went on from there to seminary at the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago and was married to my high school sweetheart, Anne, after my first year. We moved back to Minnesota for my first call which was to Christiania Lutheran Church in Lakeville. My next call was to Gethsemane, followed by Hope Lutheran, on the East Side of Saint Paul. From 1998, Anne and I have been living in Saint Paul and raising our three daughters. Micah and Rachael, our Minnesota twins, will be completing their Bachelor's degrees from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2021. Our daughter LeighAnna is studying at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington.
I am enjoying serving as pastor of Holy Cross and can hardly believe I have been here four years already.
I am passionate about doing justice, loving mercy, and walking humbly with God along with running, collecting baseball cards, watching the Twins, camping and hiking with my family, trying to golf, and being outdoors.

Brian has been a lifelong member of Holy Cross, being baptized and confirmed in the church, and now raising his own children, with his wife Laura, in this church. Brian grew up just south of Glenwood City on the family farm and continues to farm with his Dad, Scott, and brother, Travis. He is a 2002 graduate of Glenwood City High School. Brian also has a reptile collection that he does educational programs with and takes to the Wisconsin and Minnesota state fairs. Since 2013 Brian has served as a volunteer on the Glenwood City Ambulance Service as an EMT. He enjoys spending time outside, teaching his children about farming, hunting and fishing and loves any amount of time spent on a tractor.
Carol Larson
Treasurer
Carol was born in Spring Valley and was raised on a farm south of Wilson. She graduated from Spring Valley in “65”, married Keith Larson in “65” and moved to Downing. They have one son, Bryan, two granddaughters, one great granddaughter and one great grandson.
Carol was a stay home mom until Bryan graduated. She and Keith raised beef cattle and then dairy cattle. After Bryan’s graduation, Carol went to work for a real pay check, working for Action Labs for 23 years. She is now retired.
